Australians have been slow in the uptake of refill packs when compared to many other markets. One large driver of this has been the drastic fall in dispensing units (particularly lotion pumps), has made the end saving on shelf compared to a refill pack not sufficient for both packs to be retailed side by side.

Unilever have been creative with their OMO packs in releasing a refill pack. This combines a very simplified bottle and the Cormack made PP standard 28 refill cap. This cap uses less than 30% of the resin used in the OMO Premium packs Dosage cap. Given the quality of the dosing cap combined with the heavy walled shaped bottle, consumers can expect to refill the premium pack 5 to 7 times without a loss in pack performance.

This pack then combines both the reduce and recycle objectives to substantially lower the use of plastic in a household regularly using OMO. Congratulations Unilever on a truly environmentally responsible new pack.
