TVL is our Tamper Evident Vented Lock band closure range. This is a patented system for segmented folded and venting tamper bands. It has three significant benefits over traditional tamper band systems:

1. A far lower removal force for the consumer
2. Drainage slots in each petal
3. The petals “lock” under the tamper band so far more difficult for the closures to be removed without triggering the tamper evidence.

This series of venting independent petals allows cooling water to drain from the tamper bands. Continuous folded bands tend to trap the cooling water in the fold that can turn to ugly mould when the consumer removes the closures.

With a continuous folded band, as the consumer starts to remove the closure the folded band rises up to be jammed against the tamper band, then the consumer must continue to turn the closure and simultaneously break all the tamper bridges at the same moment in time. On closures 63mm or larger this can be a very high break force with typically 12 tamper bridges securing the tamper band to the base of the cap.

With our segmented TVL system, the bridges will break sequentially as the closures start to rise. Instead of breaking 12 bridges on a 63mm TVL closure the consumer will only be breaking 3 or 4 bridges at a time. Therefore, a far lower force is required to break the full closure from the tamper band.

The TVL system will also give greater product security, as they are far more difficult to tamper with and remove from the bottle without triggering the breaking of the fine tamper bridges to the tamper band.
